What is the dress code for Incentive Canada 2023 – Summer Edition?
There will be a number of different activities taking place at Incentive Canada 2023 – Summer Edition. There will be indoor and outdoor activities, business meetings and evening receptions. We recommend that you wear what you are comfortable in for each situation. There will not be a dress code for any of the activities. We suggest active wear for daytime events, and don’t forget a swimsuit.
During the marketplace meetings we ask that you wear your "Team Canada" uniform that will be provided to you upon registration. Excursions during this summer edition focus on outdoor adventure so please bring comfortable, light clothing and walking shoes. For evening receptions, business casual is recommended. As St. John’s is on the Atlantic Ocean, please note that the weather can change rapidly so be prepared for anything!

What should the timing be for my flights?
We ask that you arrive in St. John’s no later than 2:00 pm on August 13, 2023 to allow for your transfer to the Alt Hotel St. John’s in advance of the official start of Incentive Canada 2023 – Summer Edition. Please do not book your departure flight prior to 12:00 pm on August 16.

What is Destination Canada Business Events doing to make Incentive Canada sustainable?
Destination Canada Business Events is proud to lead events with sustainability top of mind. Here are some of the actions we’re taking:

  • Prioritizing venues and vendors implementing sustainable practices like serving local and sustainably-sourced menus and products
  • Working with venues to minimize the use of single-use plastic and opt for glass and other reusable materials
  • Utilizing digital over hard copy communications wherever possible, through email, mobile app, and digital signage
  • Walking to venues with a 15-minute or less commute, and providing group transportation for longer distances
  • Integrating health breaks into the agenda, including free time and a morning walk/run on the main programming dates
  • Sharing our alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with our partners and stakeholders through social media and website information to encourage education and additional action toward sustainable development

How can I help the Incentive Canada event be sustainable?
Here are some of the things you can do to help make this an even more sustainable event:

  • Book flights with no/minimal layovers
  • Aim to pack light and reusable (remember to bring your water bottle and sneakers to get in those steps!)
  • Feel free to decline housekeeping if your room can go a night without
  • Turn off lights and unplug electronics when not in use
  • Keep communications digital and avoid printing email or app notifications
  • Choose souvenirs from local artisans and vendors
  • Take some time to learn about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals

Do I need to sign waivers during the event?
During your registration you will be asked to sign a consent form and a photo release waiver. Additionally you may be asked either during registration or onsite to sign waivers related to specific activities. If you have any questions, our team is always ready to assist.
